Overview

SubCost is a subscription tracking application that helps you manage and monitor your recurring payments. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how SubCost handles your data.

Data We Collect

SubCost collects and stores the following data that you provide:

• Subscription Information: Names, prices, billing dates, billing cycles, and categories of subscriptions you track
• Custom Categories: Category names and colors you create
• Custom Icons: Photos you select from your library or take with your camera for subscription icons
• Notification Preferences: Your preferred reminder times and notification settings

How Your Data is Stored

• Local Storage: All your data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework
• iCloud Sync: If you have iCloud enabled, your data syncs across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit. This data is encrypted and managed by Apple's infrastructure
• No External Servers: SubCost does not transmit your personal data to any third-party servers

Third-Party Services

SubCost uses the following external service:

• Exchange Rate API: We fetch current currency exchange rates from a public API to convert subscription costs between currencies. This request contains no personal information—only the currency code being converted.

Data We Do NOT Collect

SubCost does not collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, address)
• Location data
• Analytics or usage tracking
• Advertising identifiers
• Account credentials (no login required)
• Browsing history
• Contact information

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties. Your subscription data remains on your device and, if enabled, in your private iCloud account.

Data Security

Your data is protected by:

• Apple's device encryption
• Apple's CloudKit encryption for synced data
• No transmission to external servers

Your Rights

You can:

• Export: Export all your data via the Settings menu
• Delete: Remove any subscription or category at any time
• Disable Sync: Turn off iCloud sync in your device settings

Children's Privacy

SubCost does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The App is designed for general audiences managing their subscriptions.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date.
